There are many interesting points in ski testing. Of course, it is very interesting to test new models. But even more interesting is testing updated models. Especially those to which there were no sympathies and, in principle, it doesn’t matter whether they became worse or better - just testing for the sake of testing. Today, just such a case: on the test, updated, well-known skis that on the one hand seemed to be quite good, but on the other hand clearly required some changes because they didn’t fall into any category of skiers. Well, we check that it has become better or worse.

Here, for the sake of completeness, it is worth remembering what these skis came to replace, at least in order to understand whether it became better and what exactly became better. So, there were RTM 84 skis. They were interesting with reservations: stable and tenacious at speed, but not very dynamic, without recoil and very gloomy - exceptionally statistically effective and only for confident skiing experts who were ready to ride fast corners and nothing more. It was precisely this model that replaced the new Deacon 84 model.

In the style of skiing, nothing has changed globally. As before, these are fast skis with a very narrow range of their rotation. In terms of stability and tenacity, nothing got better or worse. They are the same tenacious and stable and work in the same rhythm - 18 and more meters of radius. As before, they are demanding on the level of the skier and are forced to work. But, there are still changes and we can definitely say that these skis are better than RTM 84.

For the better, the dynamism of skis has changed. Noses and backs became very interesting. The backs became especially powerful on clamping them when closing the arc or when riding short arcs regardless of whether it is a semi-carving turn, a classic turn or a sliding turn. The conversion of download-to-load sensations is about 1 to 2. That is, you put 1 unit of effort, and the skis return you twice as much. The result is a very powerful release into a new turn after releasing skis at the end of the arc. Not many karvas can boast such powerful returns. There was simply no such regime in RTM at all.

Has adding skiing a more powerful short turn made them more popular for a wide range of skiers and for beginners? Definitely not. Everything interesting that appeared good in this updated model is available only with a good level of technical knowledge and only a skilled skier who understands the technique and knows how to work in skiing can squeeze out of them that return that they can give.

In speed skating, they are stable. When moving from a slit lead to a rolling turn, one does not hit the legs, but one cannot say that the transition turns out to be soft and gentle. It is somewhat more difficult to move from a sliding turn to a cut one and you have to unload and ski the skis from the beginning of the arc. But, in their case, this does not cause problems and difficulties. The middle is tenacious and allows you to get confident control even on a very hard track or ice. On soft snow, there is no significant advantage at the waist of 84 mm .. it is not particularly noticeable. On broken snow, it is not width that works more, an elastic wooden ski nose that works out bumps quite effectively. For off-piste skiing, skis are frankly hard and even hard-rolled virgin snow, it is better not to meddle on them.

Interesting powerful high-speed skis for those who know how to ride and who prefer fast skiing at mountain resorts, are experts in technology and are able to accurately load the ski when driving in an arc in dynamics: at the beginning of the turn on the noses - at the end on the backs. It is not clear why in this case the waist is 84 mm. because it does not give any benefit on a broken track, but it doesn’t interfere. For beginners, skis will surely be both heavy and fast.
